Developing Restorative Language

A Two Day Training for Administrators / Staff

Level: Intermediate
Topic: Training workshops in Creating Healthy Learning Environments
Length: 2 days

CRC offers a two-day training in Restorative Language to support school staff in looking at the ways they use language and shifting combative styles of communication to ones rooted in dignity and respect.

This training explores:

  • The thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes we hold that influence the language we use and how we speak to one another.
  • Alternative ways of using our language to shift from shaming and punitive language to language that encourages and supports others.

Participants will engage in activities and discussion to better inform and equip themselves to encourage their students, handle minor “misbehaviors” and disruptions in the moment, and contribute to creating a more welcoming and respectful classroom environment.
